Dear DON,
Patchaiakotsopa's great aunt had a cleft – and a heartbreaking story.
An unsuccessful surgery, performed without anesthesia, had left the woman with a partially open lip and lifelong scars – both physical and mental. With no one to guide her and no known treatment options, she lived utterly alone.
When Patchaiakotsopa learned that her own baby would be born with a cleft, she vowed that her child’s fate would be different than her great aunt’s.
Today, you can give hope to a new generation of children with clefts – children whose loving families can’t afford treatment on their own.
Will you send your support to a baby in need? |

As it turned out, baby Niu came into the world with an advantage her great-great aunt never had. She was born at Khon Kaen University Hospital (KKUH), a Smile Train partner in Thailand.
Right away, the specially-trained staff showed Patchaiakotsopa ways to feed her baby, so she could reach a healthy weight for the multiple cleft surgeries she needed.
And the most incredible news of all: Niu would receive all the comprehensive cleft treatment she would ever need – completely free – because of caring people like you.
Now Niu is a bubbly five-year-old who loves to draw, sing, and play. She still visits KKUH, where she receives ongoing speech therapy – again, thanks to loving hearts like yours.
And Patchaiakotsopa has peace of mind, knowing her daughter will never suffer stigma or isolation due to her cleft. The whole family is living a new story, full of smiles. Can you pass it on to the next child in need?
Gratefully, |

P.S. Don’t let financial need keep another baby from receiving cleft treatment. Your gift changes everything! |
